"Smiley's Journey Pet Foundation"

This foundation was started in honor of Latisha Alston Davenport, better know as "Smiley" because of her beautiful smile as seen on our home page. She was born with Sickle Cell, diagnosed with Crhon's Disease at the age of nine, developed Colon Cancer at the age of twenty-two, and passed away at the age of twenty-three on June 14, 2016. Due to the cancer and other health issues that she endured. Smiley fought a long and tough battle but through it all, she always had that beautiful smile, never complained, and always had so much love for others.

During her last week of her life, her wish was to have a small dog and a cat. Because during the time of her chemotherapy and radiation, she wasn't allowed to have any pets due to her immune system being so low, and she was a target to any type of infections. She asked me to promise her that I will continue her wish, be happy, live my life, and not be sad. I promised but it has not been easy for any of us, my husband and I bought a small dog in her honor to help us through this terrible lost of our precious daughter. Didn't realize how much it helped and the love that we carry through this dog in honor of our baby girl.

This is how Smiley's Journey Pet Foundation was established, the love that Smiley had for pets, has allowed us as a family to deal with her lost easier through this pet. We are here in honor of Smiley's life to help other people all over the world with a lost of a loved one through a Pet Wish. Knowing that a child has time left to name, spend time, and carry on their love through a pet, that the parents, siblings, and the rest of the family can have to love in honor of the passing of your love one. We also grant Pet Wishes for other reasons such as a lost of a sibling, spouse, and etc.
